Prior to issuing legal proceedings for the recovery of stat entitlements relating to many hundreds of invoices paid late, is it necessary to actually calculate the individual and total interest and compensation? Or is it sufficient to merely state that the Act applies and the current interest rate is 8.5% and the total statutory compensation is £y?

Since you have already calculated the charges and interest I would suggest you supply this, after all the first thing the debtor will do is ask for it and in doing so may be trying to buy themselves a little more time.

If the matter went to court no doubt you would have to supply it and a judge may even question why it wasn't supplied in the first place.
