Debtors visit to site

Hi David

I have recently sent one of my customers a claim for compensation and interest, and have used the template and calculations from this site. As such they are directed back to this site and given a code to enter.

Is there any way I can check to see if they have visted the site?

I sent them the letter by recorded delivery so I know they received the letter. Also they contacted me to say they had paid the invoices earlier this month, yet going through their payment history they have never paid an invoice on time. I have sent them an email detailing their payment history and advised that the claim is valid and stands.

What can I do if they refuse to pay the compensation and interest?

Best regards

Bruce

Hi Bruce
So you have used the advanced calculator for the letter and email which gives the debtor a link to view the claim and see the current interest owed. We hope to add verification that the claim has been viewed in the next update.

We recommend printing the initial claim and sending via recorded post (as you have done) then follow up with email reminders from the calculator showing the current amount owed to date.

If the debtor does not pay the interest and compensation, only the invoice amount you have the choice of pursuing the balance through the courts or if you are happy just to get paid, leave it at that.

As your claim has not been paid in full, the interest will continue to accrue on a daily basis at the full amount of the principal. The advanced calculator will calculate that for you and create a new letter for the debtor outlining this fact and show them the current amount owed and what he will owe in 30 days time, 100 days time and one years time if they ignore the interest and compensation of your claim.

Page 36 of the advanced calculator user guide goes into more detail about receiving part payment or payment without interest and compensation.

I hope that makes sense and helps!

Regards

David

Hi Bruce,

Regarding non-payment of the claim you have the same options for recovery as you would with any claim. You can use a debt collection agency or attempt recovery via the courts.

Hope that helps :)
