A supplier is claiming interest on invoices already paid was created by anasousa
Hello,

One of our suppliers is charging us interest for invoices that were paid late but he is only doing so now once they have been paid already. Can he do so?

I understand he can charge interest on unpaid invoices but as far as i am aware he cannot charge interest on invoices that have previously been paid even though they have been paid late.

A supplier can charge interest on all debts up to six years after the contract date. The original guidance notes from Business Link may explain in more detail what they are entitled to.
