Are you just wasting your time and money?

I have used the 'small claims' process in the County Court for many years. Recently I have used the on-line Money Claim service to do this.
The process has never been very successful. If someone doesn't want to pay you, there is very little the Courts can do to help you and, quite frankly, I don't really think the Justice system is at all concerned about this. They are only in it to make money themselves.
They charge fees for every stage of the process and the total value of these fees can escalate wildly as the process continues, and all with absolutely NO GUARANTEE that you will recover what you are owed. What a scam!
Even obtaining a CCJ against a debtor (i.e. the debt has been proved valid) is of very little benefit. To issue a warrant to enforce judgment now costs £100 (how can they justify the recent increase from £30!) and the court bailiffs are invariably unsuccessful when you do use them. I've asked the MOJ to provide details of the success rates of court bailiffs and they refused to tell me!
We are all wasting our time and money in investing in the legal process. Do yourself a favour and tighten up your rules on who you extend credit to, and then spend your time and money in lobbying your MP demanding new laws which would really prove useful in recovering debt.

Where the sum owed (including costs) is above £600 have you thought about transferring your CCJ to a High Court Enforcement Officer (HCEO) for execution. An HCEO has additional powers to a County Court Bailiff.
