Hi

Can we charge a magistrates court interest on the late payment of an invoice?
A London magistrate's court has failed to settle a 2011 invoice for a court report it requested. We have been in constant contact with the accounts department since June this year and the latest response from accounts is that their payment request was lost and they have to make another payment request to a paying department. Can we charge a magistrates court interest on the late payment of an invoice?

Hello Chiltern

All public bodies are accountable to the legislation so yes, you can charge interest and compensation from the date the debt became overdue.
