South African Personal Loan was created by Orca
A personal loan of R150,000 was made to a "friend" 4 years ago who then skipped South Africa owing over 1 million Rand to others. We traced him to the UK and took court action to recover the money. The Judge stated that even though we have a signed personal loan agreement (from South Africa) the case was dismissed as it was not in the UK's jurisdiction and no UK court could even hear it.

The guy smiled as the judge made her decision....can someone PLEASE advise if/what we can do to try to recover this money as we are both pensioners and need it...thanks in anticipation.

Sadly this is not the correct place to ask this type of question. I would suggest that you seek legal advice. Perhaps start with The Law Society who will be able to give you some free advice and suggest the correct approach.
