Pursuing a few non-payers which are businesses.

Can anybody recommend any debt collection agencies that work on a no-win no-fee basis? There's lots and lots I've found online, but I don't which ones are the best.

I'm looking for ones that go the extra mile and do not add on hidden fees should matters proceed to legal action.

Hello Mark

I cannot offer advice on whether X is better than Y but there are about 67 debt recovery agencies in our supporters database. You could email some of them (all might be too much work!) and see what response you get. How quickly they get back to you is always a good sign of someone trying a bit harder.
As for no win no fee. I would imagine that might depend on the circumstances and you will have to ask for their advise.

Hi Mark,

Lots of good agencies in the UK but like very industry we do have a few rogues, your best bet is to try and get a personal recommendation if at all possible.

Failing that look for agencies recommended by any professional bodies you may be affiliated with.

But whoever you choose make sure to perform due diligence, get a credit report and check for CCJs finally run a search on google for "name of DCA" complaint/problem.

Also when it comes to legal action you will have to pay court and solicitors fees, even if you are using a no collection, no commission agency.

However you should be the one making the decision on pursuing legal action, based on information and likely costs supplied by the DCA.
